Howdy, I’m Devan!

Podcast Production

From engineering live talk shows to long-form podcast editing and sound design, I’ve been involved with it all. Currently, I enjoy assembling podcasts for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution’s wide array of politics and sports shows. Also check out some of my work as technical director with Columbia Law School’s Through the Gale and CapRadio’s California State of Mind.

I’m also the go-to audio producer for WABE Atlanta. I’ve done work for the Peabody award-winning Buried Truths, Love and Respect with Killer Mike, Sounds Like ATL, How Do You Atlanta?, plus hundreds of promo and fundraising spots.

I also love collecting sound and have recorded interviews for NPR’s Bullseye, Gimlet’s Crime Show, Goldie Taylor’s podcast and many others.

Live on the air

After spending hundreds of hours behind the mic, there’s still nothing that excites me more! I got my start in a top 20 market at Capital Public Radio on which my voice was heard by 300,000 weekly listeners over seven frequencies whether it was spinning jazz in the evening, or informing listeners on the afternoon drive during All Things Considered - something I continue to do every weekday on WLVR starting at 4 o’clock.

Promo Production

A few examples of promos I’ve produced for various radio stations!

Feature Editing

Check out some recent stories I’ve been apart of during my time at WLVR!

The first is a feature produced along with education reporter Chloe Nouvelle which won the 2022 PA Assosciation of Broadcasters award for Outstanding Radio Feature Story/Report/Series.

The second is the first installment in a series I produced along with a local arts non-profit ArtsQuest that puts on America’s largest free music festival. I interviewed Cheif Programming Officer Patrick Brogan about the bands he was most excited to see!

Fundraising Production

A cornerstone of working in public radio! I strive to have my fundraising spots be fun, personal, and egaging. My first job in radio was moving boxes for the Capital Public Radio record sale when I was 16 and I’ve continued to fundraise for public radio ever since! Including a year and a half as Fundraising Events Assistant at KVIE Public Television.
